Movie HD Lite

Movie HD Lite is a modified version of Movie HD, an Android app to stream or download movies and series for free.

Unlike the original app, Movie HD Lite is ad free and does not force you to install VPlayer (a worthless ad vehicle disguised as a video player).

Movie HD Lite needs less permissions and aims to work on all Android devices.

Note: If you have the original Movie HD installed, you should uninstall that first.

LPT : If you are asked to create an account in order to continue browsing a website, hit F12 and click on the dim area, this would select it and you can delete it with DEL key, hit F12 again and resume your browsing.

<!-- SC_OFF -->

This only affects the display on your browser, but it's a simple way to bypass the infuriating "create an account" or GTFO situation on shitty websites when you just need quick info

Edit: Thanks for the gold!

There is some amazing tips in the comment section, it's not easy to edit them in on mobile, I'll mention the best ones once i'm home.

Edit 2 : Here are some other tips from the comment section that are IMO even better than mine

/u/reversedfate : In Chrome, press Ctrl+Shift+c, to instantly select elements.

/u/browndizzle and /u/Bloorim : I prefer to right click and say F*ck it. Glorious extension here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fck-overlays/ppedokobpbdajgiejhnjfbdjlgobcpkp

/u/DaughterEarth : Easier is to right click the offending bit, choose inspect element, hit delete, then escape

/u/lookatmemomnospans : Command+Shift+C For MAC users

/u/squidgod2000 : Behind the Overlay Chrome extension—very useful: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/behindtheoverlay/ljipkdpcjbmhkdjjmbbaggebcednbbme

How to block ads in apps using DNS66 (no root needed)

<!-- SC_OFF -->

You may have heard of AdAway, an app to block ads on your Android device. AdAway works pretty well but it has one big drawback; you need to have a rooted device to use it.

If you can't or don't want to root your Android device there are some other options to block ads and one of them is DNS66.

DNS66 is free and open source app and it works by creating a local VPN service to block unwanted DNS requests. It does not send any of your data to remote servers, it can only block data.

Here's how you can use it to block ads:

  • Download and install DNS66 directly from here.
  • Open it and swipe through the introduction or press Skip
  • Press the Domain Filters tab at the bottom
  • Make all balls red by tapping them, except the fifth one, like this
  • Press the refresh button (the clockwise ↻ arrow)
  • Wait a few seconds for the ad-block filters to download
  • Press the Start/Stop tab at the bottom
  • Long-press the big power button to start the service
  • Press OK to grant the VPN connection request

Again, DNS66 is not connecting to a remote VPN, it just uses the Android VPN feature to create a virtual, local VPN to filter you DNS requests.

DNS66 can block most ads in most apps but it won't always remove banner placeholders. You can whitelist apps from being filtered if you need to.
